The DV Lottery: a free shot at a green card
The Diversity Visa grants permanent residence to 55,000 people a year. Who qualifies, and how?
The Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) program is an annual lottery for citizens of countries with low immigration rates to the United States. A selected applicant and their family can receive permanent residence (a green card).
There are two core requirements: being born in an eligible country, and having at least a high-school education or qualifying work experience. The entry is free and is only submitted on the official government site.
Winning is not a guarantee — it is the start of the process. The next steps are document preparation, an interview and a medical exam. Liberty Road Map walks you through exactly that path, step by step.
